Shared Apartment (included)

This demands the most responsibility of students because they must take care of purchasing their own food. SIGE pays for the rent and gives the students a fixed amount to pay for the maintenance of the apartment. SIGE makes sure that the students are comfortable in their apartment housing and helps students with any issues that may arise. All shared apartment options include Wifi.

Many of the universities we work with prefer that students live with Spanish families, but occasionally they are open to the possibility of the following option (a an extra charge):

Home Stay (at an extra charge)

The most common type of accommodation for a full Spanish language and culture immersion is staying with a host family. The program offers full room and board, which includes three meals a day. The family also takes care of the laundry. The first day they show the students their way to our school, and everything the student may need to know to get around easily, for example, public transportation and so on. Living with a family allows the students to get to know the Spanish culture and people deeply, indeed we believe this to be an important aspect of the program. The program staff chooses the families carefully and continuous contact is maintained with them. The family helps the students get to know Spain better and integrate them into Spanish culture through eating, speaking and living together. We consider the participation of the families to be one of the most essential parts of the program that supports the safety and well being of the student.

A host family is provided with the following options:

  • 2 meals daily + laundry service
  • 3 meals daily + laundry service
  • Use of the kitchen facilities + laundry service
  • Use of the kitchen facilities and washing machine

All host family options include Wifi.

SIGE Certificate.

Certificate from Internship Company.

Letters of recommendation available upon request.

Most of the internships are available as a credit option. Interested students must make sure that their home institution grants credit for their chosen internship.

All the internships are available as a non-credit option, as an opportunity to explore and gain experience in a specific field, to improve your linguistic skills, and to interact with Spanish people. At the end of the semester/year, interns receive a certificate issued by the sponsoring institution or business.
